Winter Windsurfing Crash Course

In Finland, windsurfing is often simply called surfing. A windsurfing board is propelled by a sail, making it a pure wind sport similar to sailing. Some adaptations to the surfboard make it suitable for winter, extending the windsurfing season.

The frozen sea creates a fantastic winter wonderland for outdoor enthusiasts! Winter windsurfing is an exciting new and unique sport that's easy for beginners to pick up and try. No prior surfing experience is needed, and it's actually easier to learn the basics of windsurfing on a frozen sea in winter.

Participants will receive comprehensive instructions on winter windsurfing techniques and then get the chance to practice on their own. Regular winter outdoor clothing is needed and can be provided if necessary. Winter windsurfing gear is, of course, included in the course.

When learning the basics in winter, we recommend that you continue your training in the summer months, starting with a crash course on open water.
