Owl excursion in Repovesi National Park (only in Finnish)

从 5 €
时长 5 小时

Repovesi National Park offers lesser-known experiences in winter, such as the sounds of owls, who are believed to be the wisest animals of the forest. During the excursion, it is possible to hear three, even four different species of owls at the same time in good listening conditions, and in addition, several individuals of the same species can be heard.

See the detailed times of the excursions on the website. The excursions start and end at the gate of Tervajärvi in Repovesi National Park at Kivisilmäntie 720, 47910 Kouvola.

At the beginning of the excursion, the guide tells about the owls in the national park area, their habitats, ways of life, sounds, etc. After this, 3 km listening phase is carried out on foot, going slowly, stopping and listening.

After the listening phase, we will take a break at the place for camping fires of the national park and enjoy a campfire and our own snacks. After the break, another listening phase will be made, heading back to the starting point. The return route can be the same as the first route. The length of the return route is approx. 3 - 5 km.

The participant must have sturdy and well-fitting footwear because it can be very slippery in the park. It would be advisable for the participants to also bring a light, e.g. a headlamp, and weather-appropriate clothing.

Due to the weather conditions and the owls themselves, the guide cannot guarantee a excursion where owls would definitely be heard.

The company has Liability Insurance of Action and the guide prepares a safety plan for excursion. The excursion is NOT directed to known nesting sites. Observed birds are not approached unnecessarily close.
