Kulttuuritalo Virta

The Culture venue Virta is a unique cultural service, offering a diverse programme and experiences for everyone. Virta offers concerts, events and lectures, as well as high-quality services and content from the Main Library, the Art Museum and the City Museum. The programme offers a refreshing break from everyday life.

The main library offers a wide range of books, music and films, as well as facilities such as workstations and digitisation services. Free events for different target groups and a famous local author Hilja Valtonen's room enrich the library's offer. All Imatra City Library branches are self-service libraries, so you can use your Heili library card and PIN code to access the library evenings and weekends without staff. You can borrow and return books using the automatic machines.

The City Museum records and presents the history of Imatra and Jääski parish. Its remarkable collection of photographs offers treasures of the local past. The Art Museum maintains and enhances a nationally significant art collection, including the Sihtola Imatra Collection. The museum hosts more than ten temporary exhibitions each year.

Virta-opisto is responsible for liberal education and art education. It offers a wide range of basic arts education and opportunities for a variety of studies in arts, crafts, languages and general education in Imatra and the surrounding municipalities.
