Maritime Centre Vellamo

The unique building of Maritime Centre Vellamo is located by the sea, in the Kantasatama district, surrounded by the historical port of Kotka. Vellamo offers lots to see and fun activities for everyone all year round!

Maritime Centre Vellamo is home to the Maritime Museum of Finland, the Kymenlaakso Museum and the Coast Guard Museum - all in one ticket. The museums present the tales of the sea and the local region through exhibitions praised by people of all ages and abilities, as well as seasonal art exhibitions.

In addition to this, the building holds a 200-seat auditorium, seminar rooms, classrooms, a restaurant with sea view and a souvenir shop with unique and sustainable, often local, products.

In the summer time you can also visit the Museum Icebreaker Tarmo, Lightship Kemi and Patrol vessel Telkkä by the museum pier (separate admission).

Maritime Centre Vellamo has been granted the international Green Key sustainability certificate for tourism enterprises.
