Fiskars Ironworks village founded in 1649, which became the centre of Finnish art and design.

Arriving at Fiskars is like stepping into another world, one where art, design and craft blossom from historic riverside buildings surrounded by grand ancient trees. The village, first developed as an ironworks in the mid-1600s, now has today a thriving community of craftspeople, entrepreneurs and artists who live in harmony with nature. The Fiskars river can act as a tour guide by following its flow through the middle of the village.

Fiskars Village is home to over 20 shops and workshops that remain open year-round, with even more opening during the summer months. The shops offer a variety of handmade goods, including clothing, souvenirs, home decor, art, jewelry, local food and beverages, books, and much more. In the workshops, you can watch skilled artisans at work and purchase their unique creations.

On this guided tour, a local expert will take you through the rich history and traditions of Fiskars Village, highlighting key sights along the way. You'll also get a glimpse of Fiskars today, a vibrant community of artists, artisans, and designers, blending the past with the present.

Driving from Helsinki city to Fiskars takes about 70 minutes.
