Welcome to travel through time to the 18th century at the Ehrensvärd Museum! The historical setting of the museum comes to life in our summer events. In July, you can explore the museum on Mondays during Miss Blomcreutz’s house tours, where you’ll get to know the 18th-century interior and style. On July 20, Société Helsinki ry gentry will celebrate name day festivities dressed in their finest attire.
Miss Blomcreutz’s House Tours
During Miss Blomcreutz’s House Tours, the old commandant’s house located in the castle yard comes to life and invites you to experience the 18th century atmosphere in an authentic interior. The tour offers a glimpse into the museum and what noble homes were like back then. You will get to try the steps of the minuet, the fashionable dance of the period, and learn the secret language of fans. Tours are held in Finnish on Mondays from 1.-29.7. at 12 and 14 o’clock. The duration of the tour is approximately 30 minutes.
Fredrik’s Name Day at the Ehrensvärd Museum on July 20 from 13:30 – 17:00
Société Helsinki ry gentry will celebrate the name day of Fredrik af Chapman, who influenced and worked in Suomenlinna from 1760-1764. They will be dressed in their finest attire, and the event explores 18th-century name day traditions. The language of the performance is Finnish. The event is organized in collaboration with Société Helsinki ry and the Ehrensvärd Society.
