Snowshoeing in the evening

Have you ever experienced a night sky full of stars, or arctic wintery silence around you? Stargazing and walking through the snow-covered, moonlit landscape, northern lights moving across the dark sky? This tour will leave you with a lasting connection with arctic nature. Let's see what nature wants to show us. Maybe we'll see 1000 stars or northern lights or find something exciting in the snowy forest.

We will walk along the Big Bear's Trail and explore the Valtavaara nature reserve area. On the top of the fell opens the wide northern horizon. We enjoy traditional hot wildberry juice while admiring the snowy landscape and winter night around us. Your guide tells you stories about the nature around us and our cool arctic lifestyle. You'll also learn facts and mythology about the night sky and northern lights.

You'll meet your guide at Saarua parking lot info sign (Ahon Jussintie 7) and get your snowshoes. At first, you'll shortly be introduced to snowshoeing, so no previous experience is needed. If you can walk a few kilometres on hilly paths with regular shoes, you are ok to go for a snowshoeing trip. Your guide plans the route according to the group, so the length can be 2-5 km.
