Kymijoki River, the Amazon of Finland, offers a wide range of memorable opportunities for canoeing enthusiasts of all levels. The best way to get started is with a canoeing guide. There are three Viikari canoeing trip options to choose from.

Canoeing route from Ahvio to the Hirvivuolle dam. The length of this route is around 12 kilometres taking about 3.5 hours, of which 2.5 hours is spent on the river. The route runs along the so-called Piuhanhaara branch from the village of Ahvio to Hirvivuolle in Pyhtää. The route includes several points with currents, smooth water, and beautiful scenery.

Canoeing route from Anjala to Ahvio. The length of this route is around 17 kilometres taking about 4.5 hours, of which 3.5 hours is spent on the river. There are two class I rapids along the route to speed up the progress.
