The Island of Mässkär

The island of Mässkär, about 2 km from Ådö fishing harbor, is a stately example of the outer archipelago's beauty.

On the island, there is a retired pilot and coast guard station, which offers services to visitors as Mässkärs Naturstation, such as a restaurant, accommodation, and conference facilities. There is also a nature trail which offers a presentation on the archipelago.

In the summer, there is regular boat traffic to and from the island. During winter, it is possible to reach Mässkär by walking or skiing over the ice!
