Experiencia
This two-day course will introduce you to rock climbing as a sport, teach you various outdoor climbing skills and, of course, includes a lot of climbing. The aim is that after the weekend, participants will be able to safely practice climbing on their own.
The course will cover basic rope skills such as building a top rope anchor in different situations, how to abseil and how to belay a top rope climber on a high wall (over 40 m).
During the days, the most classic routes in Olhava will be climbed and participants will receive personalised climbing technique tips. Participants are required to be able to climb at least 5b (indoor or outdoor) on the top rope.
Olhava is located in the Repovesi National Park and represents the finest rock climbing in Finland. The walls rise up to 40 metres, partly directly from the lake Olhava. The climbing crag is about three kilometres walk along a good maintenance road from the Saarijärvi car park in the Repovesi National Park.
The course will take place with two participants. A maximum of four participants will be accepted. You can sign up for the course without a climbing partner.
All our rock climbing instructors are experienced climbers and have at least completed the highest level of the Finnish Climbing Association's (SKIL) climbing instructor training, RCI Rock Climbing Instructor.
More detailed information including the schedule of the course day will be sent to the registered participants by email closer to the course date.
