The Arctic Ski Challenge In Lapland

Pihka Outdoors' nine-day backcountry ski touring adventure to Finland's highest point, Mountain Halti. Seven days on skis plus arrival and leaving day. This ski journey takes you to the remote wilderness of Lapland, high above the Arctic Circle. Ski through the stunning white snowy desert with its majestic fells and arctic landscape of Kilpisjärvi.

Each day we ski 12-20 km while pulling our gear in a sled (pulka), staying in wilderness huts with no electricity or running water. If the sky is clear we enjoy the dancing northern lights in the sky. The aim of the journey is to summit Mountain Halti, the highest point of Finland, offering breathtaking views if weather conditions allow.

This ski expedition tour is physically demanding but does not require prior skiing experience. We will be using fell skis, designed for this terrain with steel edges. Pihka Outdoors expert guides ensure the safety on this tour.

The all-inclusive package includes meals, accommodation, high-quality equipment, sleeping gear, transportation and pre-trip preparation. You'll start and end the journey in Ylläs, where you'll enjoy a warm meal and sleep comfortably in a nice accommodation.
