Christmas is a magical time. Mummies get to give treats, hugs and kisses. Daddies get to put up Christmas decorations and play Christmas music. Children get to play games and have more fun than at any other time of the year. And Elves. Well, Elves get up to all sorts of fun things! If you think you enjoy Christmas, you haven’t seen anything until you’ve seen what Elves get up to at this magical time of year.

It is December, at the North of Lapland, the best time to be an Elf!

As Christmas approaches, the question “Have you remembered to be good” is something Santa’s friends, young and old, often ask themselves. Fortunately, Santa’s elves have some comforting insider information: without a shadow of a doubt, Santa Claus is the nicest and most good-humoured person on the planet!

So if you have done your best at trying to be good, you can be sure that your name will be found on the elves’ List of the World’s Well Behaved Children.

Santa Claus’s roots lie far in the north. His place of birth is shrouded in the mystery of many tales, but we do know that centuries ago he made his and his reindeer’s home in Lapland, in the northernmost region of Finland. With over 200,000 reindeer in Finnish Lapland, he has his pick of the smartest and heartiest reindeer.

It’s not uncommon to see him considering and cheering on the fastest reindeer at annual reindeer races across Lapland.
