Established in 1983, Ranua Wildlife Park specializes in Arctic and northern animal species. Our spacious enclosures are set amidst pristine northern conifer forests—the natural habitat of most of our animals—providing an authentic and immersive experience. We are open year-round, offering visitors the opportunity to experience the beauty of changing seasons in the heart of the wilderness.
As a proud member of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA), we follow the highest standards in animal care, conservation, and research. EAZA provides guidance and recommendations for wildlife park operations, coordinates breeding programs for endangered species, and leads vital conservation efforts.
At Ranua Wildlife Park, you can encounter a polar bear along with 50 other Arctic species, all thriving in their natural surroundings. Beyond the wildlife park, Ranua offers comfortable accommodation and a variety of adventure programs, making it an ideal destination for an unforgettable holiday in the heart of Lapland.
Located in the subarctic region, Ranua experiences four distinct seasons: long, snow-covered winters; short but bright summers with endless daylight; vibrant autumns; and rapid, intense springs. Each season brings unique opportunities to observe Arctic wildlife as they adapt to their ever-changing environment. Our Program Service Providers also offer exciting ways to explore the surrounding wilderness, ensuring a truly immersive experience in the heart of the North.
