Hetta Huskies Traditional Kota Farm Accommodation

Outside of safari season, it is possible to stay on our farm in our traditional circular Kota (in which clients sleep on comfortable beds around a central fireplace) for a behind-the-scenes glimpse of life on a working husky farm.

The Kota is rustic but comfortable with an outdoor dry toilet and no access to running water or a shower, although there is water available for basic washing hands etc.

The stay is half board including a traditional dinner of reindeer or locally caught whitefish prepared over the fire and a continental breakfast.

Use of sleeping bags and liners is included in the price but you are also welcome to use your own.

Please note that since the kota is situated in the middle of the farm of 150+ dogs, a guide will facilitate your experience with us (and I am sure that a couple of dogs would love to join you too!). Hence, a base cost applies irrespective of the number of people in the group.

Check-in is from 4.30pm (but you are welcome to come straight to us from the afternoon bus - there is a bus stop just outside the homestead) and check-out is before 11am in summer and before 10am in winter.

NB: The kota is designed for use by 7 but we can also turn three beds into doubles and accommodate up to 10 people The doubles are suitable for either couples or one parent and a child.

1 person: €75 + 17% service fee = €88

2 people: €75 + €45 + service fee = €140

3 people: €75 + €90 + service fee = €193

4 people: €75 + €135€ + service fee = €245

5 people: €75 + €180 + service fee = €298

6 people: €75 + €225 + service fee = €351

7 people: €75 + €370+ service fee = €403

8 people: €75 + €415 + servce fee = €456

9 people: €75 + €460 + service fee = €509

Included in this price is half board (€24), a farm tour and a 2km husky hike around our farm. You may book additional farm activities (eg a summer mushing experience or feeding the huskies) if you wish.
