Ahveninen

Ahveninen is a log-built wilderness cabin and it is located in a quiet location on the shore of Iso-Ahveninen in the Kylmäluoma trekking area. The traces of storm Paula in 2021 can still be seen in the area. The cottage has beds for 6 people.

Ahveninen has one room with a large common bed as a sleeping area. The cottage is heated with a wood-burning stove. There is no tap water in the cottage. Domestic water is carried from the pond and drinking water is brought by yourself.

The cottage is equipped with a gas stove, cutlery, cooking utensils, blankets and pillows. Guests must bring their own sheets and towels (not available for rent). There is no electricity in the cottage, so lighting is carried out with candles.

In the yard of the cottage there is a cellar. On the shore of the pond there is a separate wood-heated sauna, where the water is heated by a water cauldron. The outhouse is at the back of the yard.

On the shore of the pond there is a good beach, boat and life jackets, a campfire site and smoking equipment. In addition, there is a dog house next to the cottage, and pets are allowed in the cottage. Smoking in the cottage is forbidden.

There are no neighbors nearby. Wilderness cabins are best suited as a base for fishing, hiking or hunting trips. The equipment and standard of wilderness cabins is often more modest than other holiday cottages. The property is not preheated before the start of the reservation. The customer takes care of the cleaning of the cabin during and after the holiday.

You can reach the cottage yard in summer by car, in winter it is approximately 10 km ski or snowmobile trip. There are excellent hunting grounds around. Only lure fishing is allowed in Iso-Ahveninen. There are large whitefish, grayling and perch in the pond. The Hossa-Iso-Syöte snowmobile track runs near the cabin.
