As the first theatre in Finland, Åbo Svenska Teater performs the musical Something Rotten! in Swedish in the fall of 2023. Something Rotten! is a crazy, hilarious farce about the possible birth of both Hamlet and the musical as genre! We find ourselves in an imaginary renaissance with steam punk elements, in London in the 1590's. Two brothers try to gain fame and fortune in the shadow of mega star William Shakespeare, who just keeps producing hit after hit. A grand EXTRAVAGANZA, with delight for both eyes and ears, and something rotten in the plot.
